Alliance for Animals is a student organization that also welcomes members not attending UWM. Our goal is to protect the rights of animals through advocacy and by educating the public on important issues that impact the well-being of animals.

3 February 2008: AFA Update-Next Meeting, Important Activism Opportunity
Hello, Everyone!
We hope that everyone had a happy and safe (and animal-friendly) holiday season! Now that the spring semester has started, Alliance for Animals is back in action. We hope you’ll join us for our upcoming events!
Alliance for Animals’ first meeting of this semester:

MCW Live Animal Lab Demonstration
Despite determined efforts by PCRM members, concerned citizens, and a coalition of animal protection organizations led by the Wisconsin Humane Society, the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is scheduled to hold another round of unnecessary animal labs in February. We expect that MCW will kill about 60 animals during the course.
It’s crucial that we continue to let MCW know that there is no justification for killing any animals in the name of medical education. More than 90 percent of U.S. medical schools no longer offer live animal labs.
Please join PCRM members and physicians, and area activists, for a demonstration to save these animals! (Signs will be provided; make sure to dress warmly!)
